The Sycratronic assist system makes it possible to operate two Liebherr cranes in tandem mode. A crane operator controls the movement of both machines that are electronically synchronised. While manual tandem lifts have to be restricted to 75% of the crane's capacity, this control system guarantees 100% utilisation of the maximum load capacity.

The LHM 800, Liebherr's flagship model in the mobile harbour crane sector has a maximum load capacity of 308 tonnes. Two cranes of this model can lift twice the load with the aid of the Sycratronic system, i.e. exactly 616 tonnes.

However, identical crane types of the series are not a prerequisite to use the system. Sycratronic works independently of the crane type and is reverse compatible, which means that equipment from an older generation can also be retrofitted.

• With the aid of the Sycratronic system, one single crane operator controls two Liebherr cranes that joined together work as one unit. Increased safety, easier operation as well as faster crane movements are the result.

• Synchronised movement of both cranes means the highest level of safety. The collision alert system, developed inhouse by Liebherr, prevents the jibs coming into contact with each as well as colliding with ship components. Establishing other areas to avoid on land and onboard is also possible. Risk of inclined lifting and overload are also eliminated by the system.

• International safety standards (ISO 12480-1) require that manual tandem lifts be restricted to max. 75% of the load bearing capacity. With Sycratronic, the crane operator has the full amount at his disposal.

Several cranes can be used simultaneously even in the heavy load range of ship cranes. They can also lift particularly large and heavy loads on or off deck with precision.
